Yellow or Red Note from swb: Energy cut-off!

If you receive a “Yellow Note”, i.e. notification of a cut-off, you only have 3 days to pay before your electricity, gas or water supply is cut off!

Red Note from swb: your electricity, gas or water supply has been cut off!

What happens when your electricity, gas or water supply is cut off:

Three days after you receive notification of a cut-off, namely the “Yellow Note”, an swb employee will come and cut off your supply and give you the “Red Note”. You will then no longer be able to do everyday activities such as watching TV, cooking, heating, charging your smartphone or using the Internet. If your water supply is cut off, you won’t be able to use your toilet or bath and won’t have any drinking water in your kitchen.

Alongside your bill, payment reminder charges and fees for the “Yellow Note”, you will also have to pay the swb employee 85.76 euros for cutting off and reconnecting your supply. A fee of 40,56 euros will be charged for each additional visit.

Don’t let it get this far!

  1. If possible, pay your invoice immediately upon receipt of the “yellow note”. If you are not sure, contact swb:

  1. If you cannot pay, you can apply for financial support from the Jobcenters, the Bremen Social Services Office (Amt für Soziale Dienste Bremen) or the Bremerhaven Social Services Office (Sozialamt Bremerhaven).
  1. You can´t get through with swb and the authorities? Then contact one of the counselling centres. These can – depending on your cooperation – prevent the blocking of your electricity, natural gas or water connection for a maximum of four weeks. In this way, you gain time to develop a realistic solution for your payment problem together with the counselling centre.
  1. If you have received the “red note”, your electricity, natural gas or water connection has been shut off. The blockage will be lifted as soon as you have paid the outstanding invoice. In case of doubt or urgent cases, please contact:
